I've been really enjoying looking at lace elements in a fall outfit. It seems like it couldn't ever work, because it does need to expose a teensy bit of skin, which might have you Shivering In The Breeze. Like you know the mango model above is not legit, wearing this extremely paper-thin sweater with no layering and, like, shorts. But it actually can be done. Not exactly as H and M suggests, also above, but they're getting close.
What you'll put in the "comfy, stylish" zone is a small camisole in the same tone as the slip, which preferably will be attached to rosey lace on the neckline, and the hemline. So we'll stack up as many things as possible without stepping into the realm of too much layers//hippie hideous (my favorite line form Ugly Betty).
When we get into winter, even under such a fluffy faux fur jacket (above), you can't get by with just a cami and a slip, so a lightweight, fine-knit open cardigan would be perfect underneath the coat, and over the slip - not too much layering, and very comfortable! For the pants, you could go with a heavy pair of cargo's like she's wearing, but I don't know if I can ever pull of a army-print like These Kind Of People do, but definitely try it, walk in front of a full-length mirror, and rock it! If I would be hired to style someone with something like this (since I know I won't ever wear it on my own body; I'm just Not That Kind Of Girl, unfortunately) I'd probably hook her up with a good pair of menswear-inspired pointy-toed flats, maybe brownish burgundy or sharp black, from the slideshow featured last post.
If the cargo pants don't do their trapping-heat job, you'll have to go with some soft and stretchy polyester leggings under the pants, and trust me, no one will see it, since the jacket and slip already cover about enough (when the jacket + cardigan hang over, and you'll tuck the slip over the leggings under the pants - super camouflage!), and plus, you'll feel your legs really relax with the fabric you walk. And I last recommend that you tuck you leggings into your shoes if they're and ankle ones, but if not, then don't let your leggings show! Or fold them up neatly over your pants' hem and that they'll look like you bought them that way. How chic are you, doll?
Now for the overall camo green pick form H and M's Fall Lookbook, I think I should be able to pull off such a vibe. I mean, its safe, isn't it? Fearsome Shades - Fearsome Textures/Prints + Fluffy Eye-lash Material and Lace = Something I can't not try. It does look awesome, but the thought of me...we'll make this work. That's what GIRL POWER is all about!
So for the lace shorts, I could probably have some cute sheer black tights under, but in this thick material that doesn't stretch that far, to still be sheer and warm all at once. And the only thing I can glam up the Eyelash Material Sweater with is a plain black fedora, velvet, all nice and put on a hair-down-and-straightened look. Shoes? Tan leather ankle booties? White menswear inspired Oxfords, laced up in black? You can totally look up your own perfect chaussure
for this outfit, no pressure.
However, if the holiday season does come forth and you've got your UGG's out of your closet, your snoods all lined up and scented with your brand new Bath and Body Works candle (or actually, since our Fashion/Beauty Queen Zoella Sugg just launched her own beauty-related line, which, coincidentally, includes an amazing candle...), then you could totally transform it's palette to a more seasonal-inspired white, pale pink, bright red, and that camo green will look "at home".
